Promoting permanent collaboration with the cultural representatives making up the city’s grass-roots culture, such as cultural entities, alternative theatres, creators and promoters, among others, are some of the city’s cultural promotion objectives. This cultural dissemination is linked to municipal venues such as the Auditorio de Galicia and Teatro Principal.

The ultimate aim of this promotion is stimulating the city’s own artistic and cultural creation and production, centred on Compostela with the objective of establishing a solid foundation promoting the sector of creativity as one of Santiago’s pillars of cultural, human and economic development. The Council prepares and distributes publications regarding its own cultural programmes.
